Mike
Golden is beginning his 7th year as Head Coach at
Upper Arlington High School. Prior to his arrival at Upper
Arlington, Coach Golden spent one season at New Albany
High School and 14 years as Head Coach at Bishop Watterson
High School.While at New Albany, Coach Golden guided his
team to the school's first ever playoff appearance and
finished the season with a record of 11-2. He was also
selected as the Coach of the Year for both the Central
District and the State of Ohio for Division IV. Prior
to last season, Coach Golden had spent 22 years at Bishop
Watterson, 8 as an assistant coach and 14 as the head
coach.
While
at Watterson, Coach Golden compiled a record of 127
wins, 43 losses with a record of 21-9 in the playoffs.
In addition, during his 14 years as head coach, his
teams reached the playoffs ten times, participated in
the State Regional Championship nine times - winning
four regional titles, were State Runner-up twice and
won a Division III State title in 2002. Through 22 years
as head coach, Mike Golden has compiled an overall record
of 183-66.
Mike
is a graduate of Whetstone High School and received
his Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State
University. During his 22 years at Bishop Watterson,
Coach Golden taught World History, Sociology and Psychology.
In addition, he was the Chair of the Social Studies
Department for eight years, Co-Athletic Director for
three years, Registrar for one year and the Faculty
Representative to the School Board for 12 years. At
Upper Arlington, he will teach in the Social Studies
department as well as being involved on a day-to-day
basis in the athletic department.

Nate Cikach

Coach
Cikach is a 1998 graduate of Upper Arlington High
School. He was a starter on the 12-1 state semifinal
team in 1997. Nate was also a four-year letter winner
in track. He went on to play cornerback at the University
of Dayton. This will be his sixth season with the JV
team, who have gone 42-3 the past five seasons.
He
is currently teaching 6th grade and coaches basketball
and track at Olentangy Liberty Middle School. In his
spare time, Nate enjoys watching '80's movies and being
relentless.

BOGGS: Freshmen Head Coach - 24th year |

Mike Boggs

Coach
Boggs is a 1973 graduate of UAHS where he was a
two-year starter in both football and baseball. He served
as captain of the 1972 team and received All-League,
All-District, and All-Ohio honors at linebacker.
Mike
attended Xavier University. He lives in Upper Arlington
with his wife Maureen and their two daughters, Kelly
and Anne.

George Brown

George
Brown is a 2006 graduate from Upper Arlington High
School where he played linebacker and fullback. He lettered
for three years in football before going on to Ohio
Wesleyan University where he received two more letters.
His
senior year at UAHS marked the first year for coach
Golden, when the team won the OCC and earned a playoff
birth.

Joel Cutler

Coach
Cutler has been with the Upper Arlington School District
since 1999. He started as a Health/Physical Education
Teacher at Hastings Middle School and currently teaches
Physical Education at Greensview Elementary. Throughout
his tenure in UA, he has coached both football and track.
Coach Cutler is entering his 3rd year as Co-Head Coach
for the Varsity Track and Field team at Upper Arlington
High School. He has been a part of seven UAHS playoff
appearances in football, including the State Championship
Team in 2000. Coach Cutler is a 1994 graduate of Jonathan
Alder High School where he was named 1st Team All-Ohio
by the Associated Press. In 1998, he graduated from the
University of Dayton where he earned first team honors
as offensive center in the Pioneer Conference as well
as All-American honors from the National Football Gazette.
He received his Masters degree from Mary Grove College
in Detroit, Michigan. Joel and his lovely wife, Elaine,
reside in Upper Arlington. |

DIMITROFF: Offensive Line/Defensive Line - 13th

Jim Dimitroff

Coach
Dimitroff begins
his thirteenth year in the Upper Arlington City School
district. He helped guide the Bears to the 2000 Div.
I state title, coaching "Mr. Football" Jeff
Backes and All-Ohio players Simon Fraser and Tim Schafer.
In his tenure, Coach Dimitroff has helped develop three
National Football League players (Jabarr Threats - Jacksonville
Jaguars/Kansas City Chiefs, Nick Myers -New York Giants/
Chicago Rush, and Simon Fraser - Cleveland Browns/Atlanta
Falcons). Jim is a Springfield, Ohio native and played
his high school football at Springfield Catholic Central,
receiving All-City honors.
He
received his Bachelors degree from Wright State University
and earned his Masters degree from the University of
Dayton in Educational Administration. He has coaching
experience as the head coach at Springfield North High
School, along with being an assistant at Springfield
Catholic Central, Springfield South, Wittenberg University
and Springfield North. Coach Dimitroff was the boys
and girls track coach at Springfield Catholic Central
for three years, where he produced several state champions
and state qualifiers and the head boys track coach at
Springfield South High School for twelve years where
he had similar success. He has also coached basketball,
baseball and softball. Coach Dimitroff has coached in
the Miami Valley All-Star, and Central District All-Star
football games. He has also coached summer camps at
Ohio State, Michigan State, Northwestern and Wittenberg
Universities.
Jim is currently a Special Education teacher at Upper
Arlington High School. Jim and his wife, Cindy, have
three lovely children; Christina, 18 and twins, Dimitrious
and Alexis, age 17. Dimitrious is currently a third
year two way starter for Springfield Catholic Central
high school.

Ed Golden
|
Coach
Golden is a 1975 graduate of Bishop Watterson High
School. He has been coaching football for 15 years including
14 years at Bishop Watterson and one year at New Albany
High School.
Ed was voted the Assistant Coach of the Year by the
Central Ohio Coaches Association. He and his wife, Judy
have three children: Jason, Sean, and Lizzie.

Tony Peters

Coach
Peters graduated from Olentangy High School, where
he was an
All-League punter. He furthered his punting career at
Ohio State during the
1979-80 season. He is excited to return this year to
coach the Golden Bears
punters and kickers, having previously coached at UA
during the 1989-94 and
2002-03 seasons. After graduating from Capital University,
where he coached
the kicking game in 1995-97, he taught and coached at
Marion-Franklin High
School and Gahanna Lincoln High School, where he is
currently an
intervention specialist.
He
and his wife, Mary, reside in UA with their two
children, Courtney (14) and Connor (12).

MICHAEL
SCHAEFER: Assistant

Michael Schaefer |
Coach
Schaefer
is a 1996 graduate of Yorkville High School (Yorkville,
Illinois). While in high school he earned seven varsity
letters for the Fighting Foxes while participating in
3 sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball). Michael completed
his bachelor's in education in 2000 and his master's
in administration in 2001 at the University of Toledo.
While in college, he started 36 games, earned four letters
and winning three MAC West championships with the Toledo
Rockets from 1996-2000. As a Senior he received ALL
MAC (Mid American) honors as an Offensive Lineman. He
was also voted the teams IRON MAN award winner, which
is presented to the hardest worker in the weight room.
In 2000 Schaefer helped guide the Rockets to a 10-1
record and a No. 25 ranking in the final Associated
Press and USA Today/ESPN Coaches' polls. One of Toledo's
10 wins during the 2000 season was a season-opening
road win at Penn State by a score of 24-6. The 2000
Toledo offense also set a school record for scoring
offense, averaging 36.4 points per game, and allowed
an NCAA Division I low 3 sacks all season.
After
college, Schaefer played professionally for two seasons
in the Arena Football League 2 for the Quad City Steamwheelers.
During his time in Quad City he helped lead the Steamwheelers
to Division Championships (2002, 2003) and was a Captain
of the 2003 team that went 14-2 and won the National
Conference Championship.
Before joining the Upper Arlington football family Michael
was a varsity assistant at Davenport North High School
(Davenport, Iowa). He has also coached baseball in the
Upper Arlington system for 6 years, and was the head
Varsity Baseball Coach for the 2005 season.
Michael
resides with his wife, Kirsten (Yarletts), daughter
Samantha (7 year old in 2nd Grade at Tremont), son Bo
(4 years old), and Emma Hazel (1 year old) in Upper
Arlington. Michael is in his third year as Co-Athletic
Director along with teaching Health, Wellness, Physical
Education and is also department chair of the Wellness
department at Upper Arlington High School. Michael and
Kirsten are members of Discover Christian Church and
are very active in the children's ministry, and small
group Bible study.

Tom Trace

Coach
Trace is a graduate of Whitehall Yearling High School.
He earned his B.S. degree from Capital University, where
he played varsity defensive back, and his Master's Degree
from the University of Dayton. Coach Trace began coaching
football in 1991, and joined the Upper Arlington High
School staff in 1999.
He
lives in UA with his wife, Sarah, and their six children:
Amy, Betsy, Thomas, Julie, Katie, and Jack. Sarah teaches
language arts and Coach Trace teaches science at Jones
Middle School.

Adam Mott
|
Coach
Mott is a 2006 graduate of New Albany High School.
While at New Albany, he earned three varsity letters
playing football, and helped lead to New Albany to their
first ever playoff appearance.
Adam
graduated from The Ohio State University in March 2011
with a undergraduate degree in Sports Management. He
is also the Girls JV Basketball Coach at Lakewood High
School.

KATTOUA:

Adam
Kattoua is a 2007 UAHS graduate.
A three year starter for the Black and Gold, he was
awarded All-OCC twice and was a member of the Agonis
Club All-Metro team. He went on to play at Wittenberg
University in Springfield, OH and was a starting defensive
tackle on the number one ranked defensive unit in the
country in 2009.
Adam
graduated with a degree in psychology and is also currently
pursuing medical school.

Coach
Kerr has been with the Upper Arlington School District
since 1999. He currently teaches American Studies at
the High School. He was a member of the varsity football
staff from 1999-2004. He has also coached football at
Otterbein College, Mechanicsburg High School and Westerville
North High School.
He
is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
where he earned a B.S. in History and Master's Degree
in Secondary Education. He lives in Galena with his
wife Kim and his two sons, Gus (age 3) and Abe (age
1). Kim also teaches Math at UA high School.

Stephanie Cepec
|
Stephanie is a graduate of Buckeye Valley High School
in Delaware, OH and she recently earned a bachelor's
degree from the Ohio State University. She is licensed
by the State of Ohio and is a member of the National
Athletic Trainer's Association, the Ohio Athletic Trainer's
Association and the Great Lakes Athletic Trainer's Association.
Stephanie also works with OhioHealth and the Victorian
Village Health Center in Columbus, OH. She also plans
to begin working on her Master's degree in the fall
at Ohio State.

WEIBLE: Trainer |

Ryan Weible
|
Ryan
grew up in Defiance, Ohio and graduated from Tinora
High School in 2002 where he was a multi-letter winner
in Football and Track & Field. In 2007 he received
his Bachelors degree from The Ohio State University
in Athletic Training. While at OSU he worked with football,
men's ice hockey, and men's lacrosse teams. His education
continued at Iowa State University where he earned his
Masters in Higher Education while working as the head
athletic trainer of Ames High School. Since starting
work with OhioHealth, Ryan has worked for the past two
years at Olentangy Liberty High School and Olentangy
Sports Medicine and Rehab. He has multiple certifications
from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and has
worked a lot with noncontact ACL prevention, sport movement
screening, and the endurance athhlete. Ryan is an active
runner participating in half and full marathons. He
currently lives in Springfield with his wife, Stacy.

EVANS: The Voice of the Golden

Jim Evans

Jim
Evans has been a member of the UA Football program
since 1980, becoming the Voice of the Bears in 2005. In
1993, Jim began his announcing career with a UA boys lacrosse
game. Since then he has become the Voice for eight sports
at Upper Arlington High School and nine sports at The
Ohio State University. Each year, Jim announces over 100
sporting events. Considered one of the best announcers
in the state of Ohio, his accomplishments include announcing
OHSAA and OHSLA state championship games, state and national
all-star games, Big Ten Conference and NCAA tournament
games, and in Ohio Stadium in front of over 65,000 fans.
Each year Jim is honored to continue the tradition as
the "Voice of the Bears" but it is the entire
staff that deserves the credit and Jim feels privileged
to work with them. He would like to thank spotters Dave
Dewey and Brian McClain, along with Dan Ludlum and Jim
Blosser for all of their hard work and dedication. Jim
is a 1983 graduate of Upper Arlington High School. He
received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunications
in 1987 from Ohio University. Honored with the Outstanding
Senior Leader Award from his alma mater, he was also recognized
as an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1987. His "THUMBS
UP" sign-off originated several years ago as a memorial,
now it's his trademark sign-off. |

COLEMAN :

Brian Coleman

Coach
Brian Coleman
began working at UA in 2007 where he is in charge of all
facets of athletic development for each of the 32 varsity
and club sports. In 2008 Brian helped lead the project
to renovate the fitness center into one of the best high
school training facilities in Ohio. "Golden Bear
Ironworks" was given the distinct honor of being
named an official "Hammer Strength Training Center."
Starting in 2010, Brian also serves as an assistant varsity
coach for football (defensive line) and Track & Field
(shot put).
Before
coming to UA, Brian was a teacher and coach at Macedonia
Nordonia High School. While working as Head Strength
Coach and Assistant Football, Wrestling and Track coach
he helped develop many successful college and pro athletes.
In addition, he was a key part in the Nordonia Knight
Football teams six year playoff run, 2006 Final Four
appearance and 2002 State Runner up. Brian is a 2000
graduate of Syracuse University. As a three year football
letterman and two year starter, Brian was a part of
three Big East Championships, two BCS bowl bids, and
played in the Gator, Liberty, Fiesta and Orange Bowls.
In addition, he was named to the All Big-East team as
a defensive lineman his senior year. Brian was born
and raised in Cuyahogs Falls, Ohio. In addition to earning
All-State honors in football, wrestling and track as
a Black Tiger, Bigger Faster Stronger magazine named
him "The Nation's Strongest High School Football
Player,"
